Global Assets
The "Global Assets" section offers a centralized view of all tracked assets across the organization, including their status, classification, and associated security risks.
Overview
The "Global Assets" Grid lists all assets imported and created in the system without a network.

Editing a Global Asset
One can edit the details of an asset by clicking on the edit icon at the end of the asset row (in the "Actions" column). Then, a window with all the details will appear. Make the changes you wish, then click the "Save Changes" button.
Assigning an Asset to a Network

You can change the necessary information in the edit form and assign the asset to a network. The "Network" drop-down list is prefilled with the networks existing in the system based on the network mask. However, the list will be empty if there are no appropriate networks.
You can create a new network by clicking the homonymous button on the right of the text box. A pop-up for entering the details will be displayed. Fill in the necessary details and click "Save Changes". The newly created network will then be available in the drop-down list.

Once you select the network, the system will perform collision checks to ensure that the asset does not exist in the selected network. In case the asset exists, the system will perform additional checks and will offer you several solutions on how to proceed:
Handling Duplicate Assets
In case an asset with the same IP address but a different hostname exists in the network, the system displays a pop-up with the following information:
Links to the details of the existing asset.
Lists of vulnerabilities associated with both the existing asset in the network and the "Global Asset".
Click the "Merge" button to associate all vulnerabilities with the asset in the network.
Click the "Add as New" button to assign the asset to the selected network and update its vulnerabilities.
Handling Multiple Duplicate Assets
If more assets with the same IP but different hostname AND assets with the same hostname but different IP exist in the network, the system displays a pop-up with radio buttons listing the matching assets for you to choose from. You can select which asset to merge with the "Global Asset" or choose to add the "Global Asset" as a new asset.
Risk Owner and Remediation Owner
The "Risk owner" is a mandatory field selected during the scan import. If there are "Global Assets" without a "Risk Owner", the system will prompt you to select one when you open the asset's edit form.
When adding a "Global Asset" (GA) to a "Network" and encountering a collision, the system offers a checkbox to manage the "Remediation Owner".
A checkbox is available when choosing the "Merge" option.
If Checked: The "Remediation Owner" associated with the "Global Asset" can overwrite the "Existing Remediation Owner" in the network.
If Unchecked: The "Remediation Owner" associated with the asset in the network will be retained.
The existing "Risk Owner" associated with the asset in the network will be preserved and not affected during the merge.

Kikimora provides the following bulk operations. This is a feature that allows you to edit multiple assets at the same time without the need to edit every single record by hand. Those are:
Bulk Edit Network - allows you to assign several assets to a given network;
Bulk Edit Owner - allows you to change the "Risk" and/or "Remediation Owner" of the assets;
Bulk Delete - deletes several assets at the same time.
To perform a bulk operation:
Click the checkbox in the upper left corner of the grid to select all assets OR
Click the checkboxes beside each asset you want to edit in bulk.

Once one or more assets are selected, a banner with several buttons will be displayed above the grid. Once you click on the desired action, a pop-up will allow you to execute the change.

Assigning Global Assets to a Network in Bulk
You can assign multiple assets to a network in bulk without editing every single record. To do this:
Click the checkbox in the upper left corner of the grid to select all assets OR
Click the checkboxes beside each asset you want to edit in bulk.
Once more than one asset is selected, a banner with several buttons will be displayed above the grid:
Click the "Bulk Edit Network" button.
A pop-up will appear.
Choose a network from the list presented in the pop-up. You can select only one network.
The system will perform a check to ensure the network mask matches the selected assets.
The system will perform collision and duplicate validations.
If any issues are found, an error pop-up window will list the assets that cannot be assigned to the selected network. The error message will guide you on handling duplicates. You may need to remove certain assets from the selection. If assets do not exist in the network based on IP and hostname, they will be added, and the vulnerabilities will be updated accordingly. Once you've made the necessary selections and handled any issues, save the changes to complete the bulk assignment process.
Create a New Global Asset
The system allows you to add global assets manually. To do so:
Click the "Create" (+) button above the grid.
Fill in the necessary information in the form that appears and save the global asset.
